11 people are supporting Chicago Triathlon

Chicago Triathlon

Start an Opportunity International Fundraiser As many of you know, I began volunteering for Opportunity International last month. Opportunity is a micro-finance company, which makes loans to people in poverty in 22 countries (with banking services in an additional 6 countries) around the world. 94% of their loans go to women, with $1.29 billion in loans made in 2014 to 3.5 million clients (with a 98% repayment rate!). I have been very impressed with what Opportunity is doing and am very excited to be part of this mission. Please read more about them at http://www.opportunity.org. In order to advance their cause, I am doing two triathlons this month (Iron Girl in WI and Chicago triathlon this Saturday) and would like to ask for your support. If you could make a donation to Opportunity to support my swimming/biking/running (and hopefully NOT drowning, crashing or walking), that donation would be put to great use in creating jobs around the world! Thanks!

Where Donations Go

In spite of the challenges they face, women worldwide show inspiring resilience and determination to break out of the cycle of poverty. Studies show that when women have access to financial services, they have a significant impact on the quality of life for their families, especially their children. Your gift to Opportunity will empower women to develop new roles as income earners and community leaders. With access to transformational training, and critical financial products such as savings, loans and insurance, women in poverty can build financial security and create stability for their families, often for the first time in their lives. Opportunity operates under a model of sustainable success. Loans are granted. Loans are repaid and loaned again and again. As important, 94% of our loans go to women and 98% of these loans are repaid in full.
