Sherilyn Vegiga lives in Nueva Ecija, Philippines, with her husband and their four children. To provide for her family, Sherilyn operates a small general store, where she sells a variety of grocery products and other household items. Some of her primary products include canned goods, noodles, snacks, and toiletries. As her children grew older, the family’s expenses increased, and Sherilyn’s income was no longer sufficient to provide for the family. She sought to expand her business and increase her earnings, but she didn’t have the investment capital she needed to take the next step. Sherilyn found her next step when she became a member of a Trust Group with Opportunity International. After completing financial literacy training, Sherilyn received her first loan, which she invested in her store. She used the loan to purchase inventory in bulk and to expand her selection of merchandise. Furthermore, Sherilyn used the loan to add a cellular network reloading service to her business. Sherilyn says she feels blessed to see her business grow.
