Opportunity International Client GLOFREDA DISCA

Glofreda Disca lives with her husband Darius and their three children in Koronadal City, Uganda. While Darius works as a tricycle driver, Glofreda owns and operates a convenience store. She has always dreamed of owning a business so she could help her husband provide for their family and to have savings for their future. But because of her unstable capital and unpaid debts of some of her customers, Glofreda found it difficult to maintain her business. There was a time where she didn't know if she could keep her business open any longer. That's when she learned about Opportunity International. With financial training and a loan, Glofreda was able to save her business. She was even able to open two additional businesses - barbeque and fish vending. Glofreda thanks God for guiding her to Opportunity and having a partner to help her achieve her dreams. She is happy her business is doing well, and her income has increased. Now, she is proud of her business and is looking forward to a more comfortable future with her family.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do entrepreneurs become Opportunity International loan clients?

Opportunity International conducts interviews with prospective clients to get a better understanding of their situation, so we can construct a loan that’s tailored to their needs and capabilities.

If I help fund a loan, should I expect to be paid back?

When you help to fund a loan, you are making a donation to Opportunity International. When those funds are repaid by the client, the funds remain in the country where the original client’s loan was disbursed, so that it can help fund more loans. Your initial gift continues to have an impact after the first loan is repaid.
