Ledis Delgado lives in Monteria with her husband and two sons, who are both in their late twenties. She raised her kids and paid for their tuition with the income she earned from a small retail shop she runs in her house. Now that they have graduated from university, Ledis is focusing on and investing in her business. One of Ledis´ most persistent difficulties was properly stocking her store. She would often lack a certain product, have a surplus of it, or see it spoil. When she heard about Opportunity International through one of her customers, Ledis thought it would be a challenge to get a loan, but also a great chance to organize her finances and her logistics. Ledis used most of her loan to buy at discount prices from a wholesaler several non-perishable products such as rice, soap, and oil. Since these were the products she sold the most, she was creating a cushion for her business. Ledis is excited to see how much her sales have increased. She is now ready to make this trend continue by choosing wisely the types and amounts of products she will sell.
