Opportunity International Client Therese Nyirandakunze

Therese is a 37-year-old mother of five. She runs a general store where she sells items like sugar, soap and cooking oil. For years, she struggled to keep the shop fully-stocked, and therefore couldn't earn to her full potential.

With her loan, she plans to purchase inventory in bulk so that she can fill her shelves and increase her revenue. As her business grows, she hopes to become a successful entrepreneur and have a large enough company that she can employ her neighbors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do entrepreneurs become Opportunity International loan clients?

Opportunity International conducts interviews with prospective clients to get a better understanding of their situation, so we can construct a loan that’s tailored to their needs and capabilities.

If I help fund a loan, should I expect to be paid back?

When you help to fund a loan, you are making a donation to Opportunity International. When those funds are repaid by the client, the funds remain in the country where the original clients loan was dispursed, so that it can help fund more loans. Your inital gift continues to have an impact after the first loan is repaid.
