Grace Ajok is a hard-working entrepreneur living in Anoto Ocao, Uganda. For many years, Grace has operated a shop within the town's main trading center where she sells soda and raw ingredients like sugar. However, Grace's life changed forever when tragedy struck, and her son passed away. Grace was happy to become her grandson's caretaker but quickly found that her small business income was not enough to support both of them. She worried if she would even be able to afford her grandson's school fees if something didn't change in her financial situation. Grace found the solution she had been hoping for when a neighbor told her about the loan and valuable financial training she could receive from Opportunity International. With her loan, Grace was able to purchase her shop inventory in bulk, which attracted new customers and increased her sales. She is grateful that this expansion has allowed her to provide for all of her grandson's daily necessities more comfortably, and she has even begun to envision how she can use her new entrepreneurial expertise to expand her business further. She would like to become a wholesaler in the village and dreams of one day starting up her own commercial farm to provide a more stable living for her family.
