Diana Ortiz is a hard-working entrepreneur living in Cucuta, Colombia, with her parents. From a young age, Diana knew she wanted to be a business owner, but she wasn’t sure how to raise enough capital to start up a business or how to attract customers to a new shop. However, that didn’t stop Diana, and with some encouragement from her mother, she opened up a minimarket in her community. Diana’s business continued to grow when she found out about the loan and valuable financial training she could receive from Opportunity International. With her loan, Diana was able to purchase a wider variety of items in bulk, which attracted new customers to her shop and greatly increased her sales. The financial training has also been extremely helpful for her as she continues to grow her first business endeavor. Diana is happy that this growth has transformed her minimarket and she looks forward to continuing to expand it into a supermarket. Her dream is to purchase a house someday and to save some money to help support her parents.
