Jane Duncan has been operating her own business for years in Nkanfoa, Ghana, to help provide for her husband and two children. She is passionate about making custom dresses, which she sells alongside children's shoes at her retail shop. However, even with her husband's income from his job as a technology repairman, Jane knew that the family was barely getting by. Jane was hesitant to ask for a loan but knew that she wouldn't be able to afford her family's daily necessities if she didn't find a way to grow her business. When Jane found out that Opportunity International also offered valuable financial training, she was convinced that a loan would provide the support that her business desperately needed. She used her loan to re-locate her business to a bigger shop and began purchasing a wider variety of clothing to appeal to more customers. Jane felt that this was a big breakthrough for her business, and since this expansion, she has greatly increased her weekly profits. She is excited that this success has inspired her to keep growing her business, and she looks forward to increasing her clothing inventory. She hopes that her business will help her family to become financially stable so that her children can have successful futures.
