Vestine Musabende is a hardworking wife and mother of five, who lives in the city of Kicukiro, Rwanda. Many years ago, Vestine started her own business selling shoes to her neighbors in the community. However, Vestine struggled with having enough inventory for sale, and she worried that this might cause her to lose customers. With such a large family to help support, Vestine knew that she needed to find some way to grow her business, or she would not be able to help her husband provide for all of their children’s daily necessities as well as their school fees. Everything changed for Vestine when she heard about the loan and financial training she could receive from Opportunity International. With her loan, Vestine was able to purchase a wider variety of shoes in bulk, which attracted many more customers to her store. She no longer worries about keeping her store stocked and has seen a great increase in profits since receiving her loan. With her income, Vestine purchased a plot of land, and she would like to continue growing her business so that she can build a house for her family.
