Delia Degones lives in Capiz, Philippines, with her husband Ronito and their four children. To provide for her family, Delia decided to open a snack shop. Her sales of homemade and pre-packaged food support her family’s needs. Ronito works as a taxi driver, but despite the couple’s dedication to their jobs, they struggled to earn enough income to provide for all their children’s needs. Everything began to change for Delia and her family when a staff member from Opportunity International encouraged her to join the organization. After completing financial literacy training, Delia received her first loan, which she invested in her business. The loan provided the small financial boost Delia needed to gain momentum in her sales. Now, she’s able to earn enough income to support her family’s needs.
