Giselle, a dedicated mother of three, lives in Kimironko, Rwanda. All three of her children attend school. To pay for their school fees and provide for her family’s other needs, Giselle works as a charcoal vendor. She started her charcoal business 10 years ago and is an experienced entrepreneur, but recently, Giselle decided she wanted to expand her venture. She was able to grow her business through her partnership with Opportunity International. After completing financial literacy training, she received her first loan, which she used to purchase additional charcoal and increase the scale of her business. Giselle’s sales have increased, and she puts the profits toward her children’s education and her savings. In the future, she hopes to continue growing her business.
